Pharaoh Political Institution and Its Influence On Art

Any company that generates an artistic creation, and directly influences the chip. Measure the influence of various factors is given by their place in human community. In ancient Egypt, outside the natural environment – soil, climate, resources, raw materials, etc.,two institutions have made their mark on the society decisively, including art. These two institutions were religious power and political power. The close interdependence of the evolution of Egyptian art in this fundamental institution of civilization is an essential feature of ancient Egypt. It is hard to distinguish how far art has been influenced by religious and political institutions which began authority. This is because the old concept Egyptian Pharaoh “gets this power (the king n.ns.) ascent to the throne during the ceremony. Then performs the recognition by the gods of his divine nature … making him king. But the enthronement of King relies on a prerequisite: in his veins flows a divine blood “(Drioton Etienne, Pierre du Bourguet, Art Pharaohs. A complete history of Egyptian art. Pharaohs, conquerors of Art, Bucharest, 1972, vol I, p. 38).

Mircea Eliade’s theory of Henri Frankfort accept that this transfer of power from the god-king Pharaoh must have been the first king. “The Creator was the first king, he sent his son and successor this function, the first Pharaoh. This transfer of power as a divine institution established royalty, “concludes Mircea Eliade (History of beliefs and religious ideas, I, Scientific and Encyclopedic Publishing House, Bucharest, 1981, p. 94-109). This concept has its origins in the authority of the Pharaohs won on the social, they are those who have established order in society. And social order to be part of the ancient Egyptians cosmic order. Actions and gestures pharaohs were described in similar terms to those of the gods. For example, Ra’s action was concentrated in the formula:

“He placed the order instead of chaos.”

Pharaoh’s authority being derived from the belief that nature was divine descendant of the god Horus, the falcon-looking. The origin of the Pharaohs taxation policies undisputed leaders must be state undoubtedly that were unificatorii two parts of Egypt: Lower Egypt – Delta and Upper Egypt.

They were the supreme masters of economic life, the administration and military leaders. There were also masters of temples, except during the reign of Amenofis IV, Akhenaten (1372-1354 BC. AD) when moving the capital from Thebes to Akhet – Aton (today Tell-el-Amarna) should worship the god Aten. This rule is called by historians, including those of art, period amarnaniană.

Pharaoh was considered the god of the living. Therefore objects dedicated to the palace, temple, tombs, statues that represented them as decoration paintings were subject to very stringent rules. These “equivalent to almost a religious rite that can not be changed. It follows a steadiness, an immobility, compelling, especially if the images of statues and temples …. ” These rules give the epithet of ancient Egyptian art, sacred art (René Huyghe, instead of the word before, Drioton Etienne, Pierre du Bourguet, op cit.., P. 24). Meanwhile, another consequence of Pharaoh authority on art was determined by political power and divine power, both unlimited imposing monuments – palaces, temples, statues and enormous mastabe. Supradimensionalitaty their purpose was to evoke the vastness of authority which they were intended.
